Favorite Mission Chicken

This is my favorite chicken dish to make for our final dinner with missionaries returning home.  It is easy to prepare and always tastes tender and delicious.  I even prepare the chicken the night before and bake it in the morning.  Best of all, all the ingredients can be found here in Chile!!!

Bacon Wrapped Chicken

Season chicken tenders with pepper and Lawry’s Seasoning Salt.  Wrap each chicken tender with a piece of bacon and place in a 9x13 baking dish.  I can usually fit 15 pieces of chicken in a pan.

In a bowl mix together 1 can of cream of mushroom soup with 2 cups whipping cream.  Pour over the chicken and cover with aluminum foil.  Bake at 225 degrees for four hours.  Uncover and bake an additional 15 minutes at 350 degrees.  This is a perfect dish to prepare and bake during church.  Make some rice after church and you have a delicious dinner.

Christmas Conferences

In December we traveled the mission to meet with each Zone and have a Christmas conference.  It was the best way for us to spend this holiday season.  Being with our missionaries is such a gift for us.

The Copiapo Zone

The Atacama Zone

The Chanaral Zone

The Vallenar Zone

Waiting for President Bruce

The La Portada Zone

The Antofagasta Zone

The Calama Zone

The Iquique Zone

The Alto Hospicio Zone

The Los Olivos Zone

The Costanera Zone

After lunch we had a gift exchange.  The missionaries listened to the story of Elder Milagro who entered the mission at Christmas.  He missed his family but knew that he needed to baptize.  Each time the work baptize/baptism was spoken the missionaries passed their gifts to the right.  And each time they heard the word Christmas they passed their gifts to the left.  It got a little wild but everyone had fun with the gift exchange game.

We judged the goofiest gifts.  The recipient and giver of the goofiest/funniest gift had to dance and sing to "Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes" for the group.  The plunger won goofiest in Iquique.

Our Assistant modeled the goofy glasses.

This Elder really enjoyed dancing to this favorite Primary song.

Even the Sisters had a chance to sing for the group.

Each missionary received an MCA temple recommend holder with the mission scripture.

Lunch is always a highlight at conferences.
